Robert Mark Cabe

Mr. Robert Mark Cabe Jr., 79, of Mills River, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Park Ridge Hospital. He was born in Buncombe County to the late Robert Mark and Bonnie Cumi Roane Cabe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cabe was preceded in death by his two brothers William and Thomas Cabe and his two sisters Kathryn Baynard and Sue Huff.
He retired from the U.S Navy, as a Boatsmans Mate First Class, amongst serving many tours his biggest tour served on a River Patrol Boat in Vietnam (Mekong Delta) with 120 Combat Patrols and receiving the two Purple Hearts,Bronze Star and several other medals for combat service.
Mr. Cabe is survived by his son, Robert Mark Cabe III of Mills River, his sister Rebecca C. Montgomery and her husband Mackie of Conway, AK and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7th, 2016 in the Chapel of Mills River United Methodist Church, officiated by the Reverend Jeff McCumber and Pastor Keith Thielke.
