PROVIDENCE – Carbone, Robert Anthony, 64, of Brook St., died unexpectedly at home, Friday, January 2, 2009. He was the husband of Lorraine "Lorie" (Miguel) Carbone. Born Nov. 20, 1944, in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Emily (Marques) Carbone. Mr. Carbone served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and later served as a military police officer with the Army National Guard for 18 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Lisa Thomas of Warwick, Melissa Carbone of North Providence, and Christopher Carbone of Cranston; his five grandchildren, Nikole, David, Brianna, Christopher Jr., and Anthony; and his brothers, Joseph Carbone of Woonsocket, William Carbone of Warwick, and John Carbone of Cranston. He was the nephew of Celeste Marques and Hilda Perry, both of Providence. His funeral will begin on Thursday at 8:45am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Traverse St., Providence. Military honors and burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-8pm.
