ROBERT C. CARPENTER
Funeral services for Robert C. Carpenter,82 ,will be Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Donny Custar officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with the assistance of Shan Ingram, Bret Flatt, Devlon Ford, Russ Gentry, Louis Dunlap and Dale Wilkins.
A time of visitation and support will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m.
The son of the late Charles E. Carpenter and Helen L. Elles Tucker, Robert was born December 25, 1941 in Ardmore and passed from this life to life eternal on March 6, 2024, in an Ardmore care facility.
Robert graduated from Rankin High School in Rankin, Texas. He began working in local filling stations, and then worked for Big Chief Roofing and later with Scotta's Florist in Ardmore, before beginning a 30 plus year career with the Noble Foundation. He worked in the agricultural division. He also ran a tractor business brush hogging and tilling gardens.
He was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed going bird hunting, camping, fishing, riding horses and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debbie Wright and husband Robert; and Kristy Carpenter and her significant other Chris Douglas; grandson Jayme Wright; granddaughter Emily Palmer and her husband Trace; great grandsons, Sylas, Oliver and Elijah Palmer; and his nieces Janet Thomason and Nancy Dunlap and her husband Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Bill Morris and his niece Donna Deming.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Howell, Wadell Altom, Roger Wilkins, Phillip Vance, Joy Offield, Shannon Boatman, his Noble foundation co-workers and his Sunday school class.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made in Robert's name to St. Jude Research Hospital.
The family would like to say a special thank you to The Lodge, Southbrook Nursing Home and Good Shepherd Hospice for the care and love they showed Robert.
