Not sure what to say?

To the family of Dr. Cathcart I extend my deepest sympathy. I was shocked to hear of his death. Dr. Cathcart was a wonderful surgeon. He had a deep geniune concern for all of his patients. May he rest in peace. Love in Christ, Margaret Watts

Dearest Cousins,

We are SO sorry to hear of Bobby's passing! You are in our prayers and have our deepest sympathy! The world is a less brighter place without Bobby, but I'm sure our family in heaven rejoices to be with him again.

With Love,
Katherine & family

I am one of the many patients that Dr. Cathcart snatched from the jaws of death. In 2003, when he appeared in my room to advise me of the need for emergency surgery, I had no idea who he was. Being new to Charleston and not having surgery in over twenty years, this was the last thing I ever imagined. Yet here I was at Roper, about to place my life, and future, in the hands of an unknown…yet, there was that “something” about Dr. Cathcart that gave me hope. Maybe it was his quiet voice,...

Please know that you are all in my thoughts. Dr. Cathcart was such a joy to be around. I am glad I had a chance to know him.

Dear Mimi, Bill and the Cathcart clan.
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bobby's death. I was out of town and just read the obituary today.
I remember Bobby well. I remember what a presence he was, and I know what an impact he had on his patients, the lives he changed in Vietnam and his community of Charleston. His sense of humor was legendary and the man could throw a football the length of the Horse lot. I can not remember Bobby with out thinking of Mimi.

Please accept our deepest sympathies.

I am blessed to know a man of such honor as Dr Cathcart. I believe he taught and helped us to live and he showed us also how to die. I appreciate his duty to his Country and Community, and was honored to be of assistance to him in his last days. May GOD Bless, my deepest regards to the Cathcart family.

Mimi and family, our condolence to you. We just heard of Bobby's illness and death. He was a long distance friend and classmate. I believe he thoroughly enjoyed his life with you.

Being one of the nameless, faceless many thousands on which Dr Cathcart practiced his skill, I was disheartened to learn of his illness and loss. Although our encounters were brief, I will always remember him as a man of integrity and skill who loved and deeply cared for people, enjoyed humor, and always took time to share their humanity. A great man and a great loss.
