Have you ever met a person for the first time and thought, I want this person to be a friend and in my life for 50 years. That happened with when I first met Bob and Pat. For the past 50 years we have been sharing good times and bad, but Bob always had a positive way of looking at life. We are members of "The Group". Fourteen friends who get together once a month to enjoy each others friendship. Bob had a lot of troubles to live with but boy did he enjoy life. He had a way about him...

Bob Chapman was my friend and mentor! I met Bob in 1973. He was always uplifting and inspirational. I taught and coached baseball with Bob for several years. Bob was a great Hall of Fame baseball coach and he was, more importantly, a Hall of Fame person. I love you, Bob, and I will miss you! My thoughts are with the family!

Such sad news, deepest sympathies to the Chapman family for the loss of a terrific man. Mr. Chapman was the best teacher in my academic experience. But more important he was a great role model and had a positive impact on many young people. RIP Bob.
Thanks for everything,

Pat, Kathy, and Rob: Skip and I were so sorry to learn of Bob's passing. We will be forever grateful for the teacher and role model that Bob was to our kids when they were at Fairmont. Bob was certainly one of the "good people " in this world.

Deepest sympathies to the family. Prayers for peace and comfort to all.
Coach Chapman was a great coach but an even better man. Coach wasn’t just coaching baseball, he was molding young men. I have realized later in life just how much of an impact he had on my life. A great man that will truly be missed.
