Roberto never stopped being creative. He was working on a children's book when he passed, excited about learning how the children's publishing world worked, and creating a delightful story in the process. It was a part of his ever-youthful mindset. Always doing something new and eager to learn.

Was in the Army with Bob in 67-68 and we stayed friends through the years. He was a very creative guy.

Bob Chiesa as he was known from the old LaLoma neighborhood, we reunited in the early 70's where every morning our Coffee Klatch met @ 9:30 AM at Ernie & Lucy's in Downtown Modesto's Beatty Building. Our morning group would share all the latest news and gossip. Really fun times. Every Friday our group which we called "The Every Friday Lunch Bunch" we would select an off the wall, off the beaten path, lunch spot to meet and enjoy a two hour lunch break. Bob was a kind gentle man who cared for children. I knew him as a Board member at St. Stanislaus school. My condolences to the family.

Roberto was an artist, an author, a filmmaker and one of the most creative people I have met, perhaps because he never lost touch with his inner child and found so much to be joyful about in the world. And he had a big heart for friends and family. He helped me through difficult times after the loss of my father, and we had many 'tea times' together talking about his new book, getting older, and the importance of friendship and family.
