Not sure what to say?

I'm sad to hear of Robert's passing. It seems like i have lost too many friends recently. I have a niece,Tracy Wassmer, wholives in Roanoke,VA. She lost her brother and mother under tragic circumstances. Robert was a genius at chess and clobbered me in our one tournament game. I got a chance to see his website on poker and backgammon. He always cheered up the chess crowd people with a funny story about chess. I will miss "the coach" along with many others.

I have many fond memories of Bob from my chess playing years. In addition to being a chess master, he was a great teacher and organizer. I enjoyed attending many events at his Cavendish Club during the 1970s. RIP, coach.

He was a marvelous man with so much talent. He also excelled in Backgammon. We played and he always won. He is truly missed int the bridge community.

So many wonderful memories we shared from our Morgan St childhood! Will miss you popping in out of my life. Make sure I see a Cardinal tomorrow in my yard Love & Goodbye Mary Jean

We knew Robert from years ago when his parents lived next to mine. Always a pleasant man and he was good to his parents. Condolences to the family he has left behind but rejoined with Al and Marjorie. My mother and Marjorie were great friends for years.

I knew Bob from 1963 until about five years ago when we lost touch. I played poker, golfed, and shot three-cushion billiards with him in the mid-60s and again when he came home to take care of his father. I lost touch with him about five or six years ago. He was one special and talented human being. I'll never forget him!

I first meet Coach at MSU. After college he returned to Saginaw, we played bridge together on some team events with a friend from MSU Fred Hamiton & John Jacobson. Bob then headed to Vegas for many years. After Vegas and his return, we spent many hours play bridge . So sorry for the loss of a friend.

Bob was a good friend and mentor. He excelled as a pool player as well. He got to play World Champion Willie Mosconi at an exhibition in Saginaw. He had a great laugh! he played World champion Bobby Fischer in chess too! RIP Brother.
