Hi Diane. I just learned of your husband´s passing away, and I´m sorry for your loss. It´s a joy to hear he knew Christ and now knows him better than the rest of us. I wanted you to know that 14 years ago, he was the surgeon that saved the life of our 3 month old suffering with necrotizing pneumonia. He performed emergency surgery, and today our son is a thriving 14 year old who also has come to trust the Lord with his life. Thank you for the years you supported Dr Cilley; I know the life of...

Dear Diane and Cilley family, I apologize for the tardiness, but I only just learned of Dr. Cilley´s joining our Lord in glory. Although I am saddened by the thought, I rejoice that I will see him again in eternity and thank him for all he taught and demonstrated to me about what it means to be a Christian who happens to be a surgeon. I often remember his (and your/Diane´s) words of wisdom during my training at Hershey. "I thank my God every time I remember you." - Phil 1:3

Dear Althea and Jonathan, I was in Bob´s class at Philmont from 4th-12th grade. Always remember him putting on his Chap Stick, and great guy and very smart - I think he was valedictorian ..? I´m praying for you all - hard to lose a brother! I lost my youngest (Jonathan Viss) 11 years ago at age 48 to cancer. But our God reigns and we shall all be reunited in Gods presence. Blessings to you and yours! Evy

I just found out and I am so sorry to hear of Bob Cilley´s passing. He was a caring surgeon, a strong leader for the children´s hospital as well as the pediatric surgery service, an appreciated colleague and a wonderful example for residents and peers. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family. He will be missed by many at Penn State.

Dr. Cilley consulted in the ER when my son was little. Even though our interaction was brief, he really impressed me as a kind and caring doctor. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Reading his obituary and all of the wonderful comments others wrote about him, it seems I wasn't wrong to hold him in high regard. I hope wonderful memories of him will comfort his family in the days ahead.

Condolences and love to the family and friends of a great man. Praying you all find strength and peace in this most difficult of times.

Dear Cilley Family, Dr. Cilley was an incredible surgeon, husband and father. What a loss to the Pediatric Surgery Department and to the Hershey Medical Center family. His meticulous surgical skills and gentle bedside manner will always be remembered. More importantly, Dr. Cilley was an amazing human being who will remain in our hearts. Nina and John Pennock

Dr. Cilley RIP! Our son is alive today because of you. What others couldn´t do in South Asia and Middle East, you were able to accomplish it. You will always be remembered in our thoughts and prayers, thank you for saving our babies life!

I am sorry to hear of your family´s loss. I enjoyed and was honored to work with Bob and have you all as neighbors. He was a talented physician, and more importantly, was an honorable, ethical human being. The world is a lesser place without him. Rest In Peace, kind sir.
