ROBERT L. "BOB" COLLINS Robert L. "Bob" Collins died peacefully on May 25, 2017 at St Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, CA. Born February 17, 1929 in Coleman, Alberta, Canada. Bob was the eldest son of Robert & Louise Collins. Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, he, along with his family. moved to the United States in 1944. Bob later enlisted in the US Navy, attended USC, and began a career in the chemical and semiconductor engineering industry in 1955. On August 10, 1957, Bob married Loretta Foley in Altadena, CA. Mrs. Collins died on December 31, 2016 in Fresno. Bob and his family lived in Southern California from 1957-1967, New York 1967-68, Florida 1968-1970, before returning to California and living in Santa Clara County (San Jose and Morgan Hill areas). Bob and his wife Loretta retired to Paradise in February 1994. They were active members of St Thomas More Catholic Church. They would live in Paradise until July 2016, when they moved to Fresno because of health issues and to be closer to family. Bob was predeceased by his brothers John (Jacky), and Patrick, and his sister Mary. Bob is survived by his son Joseph (Renee) Collins of Maricopa, AZ, son Matthew Collins of Mission Viejo, CA and son Timothy (Dorie) Collins of Fresno, daughter Roberta (Jeff) Nelson of San Juan Bautista, CA, daughter Theresa (George) Dahdouh of Union City, CA and daughter Marianne Collins of Fresno. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jeff Nelson Jr, Joshua Nelson, Adam Dahdouh, Sarah Dahdouh, Michael Collins, Sara Collins, and Katarina Collins as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Bob will be remembered as a good provider, and true to the love of his faith and family. The family would like to express gratitude for the caregivers, Daisy and Sylvia, for their talents and support for both Bob and Loretta during the last months of their lives in Fresno. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10 am at St Thomas More Catholic Church, 767 Elliott Rd, Paradise. Chapel of the Pines is charge of arrangements.
