COOPER, JR., ROBERT L. If he had chosen the place to leave this life, it couldnt have been better than in Glorieta, NM, a place he called, "a little bit of heaven on earth". Coop left us on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 8pm. He was known as R.L., Bob or Coop to many friends all over the country....

Not sure what to say?

I have moved from the community in the past year, but I taught both your boys at CCA in third grade. I was so distressed at Robert's passing and want the family to know that my prayers will be with all of you. Although it will be difficult to see the hand of God now, you will know his peace and comfort and know that he is indeed there for you. Love to Blake and Hayden.
With love and prayers, Laura Young

Dear Sue
Jeanette and I have just learned of Coop passing away and our hearts are heavy. What a pleasure to get to know the both of you this last year and sharing all the time past with Jeanette's mother while you were in our home. We obtained new friends and also our relationships in Christ. Jeanette and I have talked often about the way we met Coop at Glorieta and it being such a small world. God bless you and we would love to see you sometime. You are always welcome.

It was an honor to call Coop a friend - he brightened my days when no one else could. His smile and love for the Lord were contageous and he will be deeply missed. I love you Sue and you are in my prayers.

Dear Sue, Bob, Claire, and Families,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. So many great pictures of Coop come to mind - with all of you and Leonard at Cleo's house, finding your house in the tall trees in Houston, watching football at your Dallas home, amazement at the Ford model A(?), Jennie and I visiting Coop and Sue in your Glorietta home with our baby Stephen in summer 1991. It seems to me that Coop didn't wait to pass on a legacy - he gave it away all throughout his life. Thanks...

The world is a sadder place today because of Coop not being here. He was an friend to all. He knew great leaders and humble servants. And he treated everyone well.

Cooper Family, My thoughts are with you today.

It was my priviledge to have known
"Coop" via his lovely wife, the former Margaret Sue Anderson who was originally from Wills Point, TX where my father Dr. Baker served as physician for her, her sister Nancy (Thurmond) and their parents.
Not only was "Coop" a star athlete, but he was a successful star in business and in everything with which he was involved -- especially in helping others of all ages.
The last time I saw the Coopers was at lunch at the Dallas Museum of Art. Jo...

Coop was an encourager extraordinare. A Barnabas in this century, he was always loved by everyone he met. As a brother in law, he was truly a brother to us and a great uncle to our children. May you know that he will be missed by all the Thurmonds in Fort Worth and wherever his nieces and nephews live. God Bless You and Keep you daily is our prayer.

I first met Mr. Cooper at Glorieta in 1994. Always friendly and kind. Everyone loved Mr. Cooper. It will be hard to imagine a Glorieta summer without having "Coop" around.

The loss of someone so close is difficult to bear. We share your grief.
