COUSINS, ROBERT j. Of Swartz Creek, age 64, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 12 NOON Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Saturday and 12-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Robert was born in Flint, Michigan on January 10, 1954, the son of Bernard and Helen (Livingsten) Cousins. On February 2, 1985 he married Patricia Whitman. Mr. Cousins was an on call Fire Fighter for the Flint Township Fire Department and an EMT for the Flint Township Fire Department. He was a little league coach and was an avid hunter. Mr. Cousins was employed by the Railroad for 40 years. Surviving are wife, Patricia; children, Jason and wife Carrie, Stephanie Zettel, Christina and husband Shawn; grandchildren, Taylor, Ayden, Roland, Maya, Camden, Zachary, Lauren and Lillian; sister, Marjorie and husband Robert Robinson; sisters, Mary and husband Don Creg, Kathie and husband Ed Brandt; sisters-in-law, JoAnn and husband Duane Larson, Debra and husband Dale Gentle; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard; mothers, Helen and Henrietta. Special thanks to Melissa, Amber, Minnie and Shannon, with Kindred Hospice. I was recently thinking about Robert and now seeing this is very jarring. My prayers are with all of the family. I am so happy to have known him.

we are sorry to hear of bob's passing. I'm going to miss the crushing handshakes and his quick wit. He was a load of fun and will be missed. We are sending our love and best wishes.
