Bob was one of the best persons you would ever meet. We are all worst off without him. RIP

I was very sad to just learn Bob passed in March. I was Bob’s “assistant” in hosting Sir Ivor Crewe the then Master of University College, Oxford our shared alma mater. Bob hosted a reception at the Metropolitan Club and a second gathering at his house in Northwest Washington. First time I met Bob was at a reception at Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and this guy comes up to me and blurts out "what's your number? " I said "excuse me?" and he said "you know, your number at Camp Dudley," where every camper has a number. I asked how he knew I went to Camp Dudley; he replied "your name is familiar and I recognize a "Dudley-ite!" So began a friendly relationship, along with his wife, the estimable Jamie. I will always remember his warmth, kindness and the twinkle in his eye. We may have only crossed paths at the opening night parties or special events for the opera, but it aways brought great joy to me whenever we met. His eye for photography was perfection, his generosity of spirit and his impeccable class will be forever missed. All my love to Jamie and the family.

His open enthusiasm and kindness shone through every meeting, comment or conversation. What a joyful gift to the world. Much Sympathy and Love to Jamie and the Craft family.

Bob loved playing the pool and wore a pair of floating shoes so it appeared he walked on water. He lived life that way too! Warm memories of his generosity!
