Robert Edward Crussell passed away July 8 in Las Vegas, NV, after a long, brave battle with cancer. He and his wife, Nan, had moved to Nevada this year from Newcastle, CA. Read MoreMy thoughts and prayers go out to the Bob Crussell family. Bob was my first boss at The Sacramento Bee. We worked together in getting the job's done. We even walked across the railroad tracks to get boxes of computer paper to be used for printing. Bob would carry one on each shoulder. I went to Bob's house once and he was cordial enough to give me a few cordials. I don't know how I made it home.

Bob was not only a neighbor and friend, Bob was always that person at the fence that made your day great with conversation. If you needed help, don't ask any further. He will be missed by many who met him. my sincere thoughts go to Nan and the family.

Bob, known to me as "Igor", will always be at the top of my list of valued friends. He is the only man I have ever known who had only friends.
