One of the few close friends that I had at Salomon Brothers. We would enjoy listening to Italian opera together in his office that was adjacent to the international department.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Robert's untimely passing.

I was introduced to Bobby when my boss Steve Joseph hired him to join our relatively new MBS department at Drexel Burnham. I was the head of MBS research and it was fascinating to hear from Bobby about the early days of our business from his time at Salomon Brothers and to learn first hand about what REALLY went on.

More importantly, I was touched by his intelligence, grace and...

A consummate gentleman...........something rarely found on Wall Street. I was fortunate to have known and learned from him. RIP

I liked Bob so much for his humor, wit, and humility. But what I admired him so much for was the belief he exuded that we were all so privileged -- to be working in such a fabulous profession, and associating with such talented people. Bob will be missed by us all.
