Not sure what to say?

I represented Bill and many others as part of the Committee to Save the Bishop's House in the late 70's. He was thoughtful, generous with sound advice, and determined to make a difference in his community by doing what he saw to be the right thing - a great example for us all.

Jeanne and I are very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I always admired Bill's tenacious adherence to principles and his fearless abiity to stand up for what he believed in. I remember Bill from the 60's to recently as a mentor, advisor and role model. Whetther the issue was International relations with Russia or neighborhood preservation in Burlington , Bill could be counted on to express the logical, democratic, and well examined point of view. He made many contributions to academics, state...

I will never forget Bill Daniels! He was an Emeriti Professor that stopped by the History Dept. for many years after his retirement. I typed many of Bill's articles and published books for him. He signed his last book to me and I will keep it close to my heart. I still have many of his old articles saved in a folder on my desk top, I just couldn't delete them! I am proud to call Bill my friend. Alice and family, I am thinking of you all. Debbie Smail (Secretary in History Dept., 1998-2003)

I was in Bill's Russian history course as an undergraduate over 45 years ago. He was at the top of his game in the Cold War Era. Later I knew him through teaching history at BHS. And more recently I went through a stretch at cardiac rehab exercise program with him. Such an open friendly person. Always made you feel glad to be in his company. Bill McGrath

Terri and I were very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We knew Bill from Democratic Party activities, and always enjoyed our conversations with him. Bill was a great asset to Burlington, and to Vermont. He will be missed. RIP.

I photographed Bill for two legislature campaigns. I liked him and was always sorry the pictures weren't great. ...Fred Hill

Elaine Little and children send their condolences to Alice and the Daniels children. Bill was a loyal member of the ROMEOs, much appreciated by George.

Prof. Daniels was the best. Always there, always on time, and always superb. At a time (early 70's) when many UVM professors were phoning it in, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to take courses from him. The world is a little less complete with him gone. My condolences to his family.
