Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. - Merrimack Obituary

Robert A. Dano, 63, of Merrimack passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2019. He was born in Wahiawa, HI on June 29, 1956 to the late Anthony and Elena Dano of the Philippines. Raised in Hawaii, he graduated from Saint Louis High School and completed an Associate’s Degree in IT before moving to the mainland shortly after. Robert resided in Merrimack, NH for the past 30 years and retired from his fulltime work in 2017 after 37 years with the same company.

While in Merrimack, Robert had been involved with town and school sports, coaching and volunteering for his sons’ teams. He stayed active on his own as well when obtaining his black belt in Taekwondo. An avid photographer, Robert honed his skills over the years and took that passion with him when traveling often for work and with his family.

Already a worldly traveler, following his retirement he continued to do contract work while heavily increasing his travel aspirations. He completed a 2-month, solo Southeast Asia trip in 2018 and had made plans for years to come. He was recently hiking the Patagonia trail in Chile when his heart gave way and he could not continue. Robert was experiencing life to the fullest when he passed.

He is survived by his two sons, Gabe Dano and Julian Dano, their mother Eylene Dano, his sister Doreen Dano of California and her children Shelley Vinnik and Thomas Childers, his brother Jonathan Dano and sister-in-law Kathy Leonardi of Hawaii and their daughters Christina Sleight and Phyllis Dano; along with all the loving Ohana near and far.

A Private Celebration of Life will take at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert Dano can be made to the Merrimack Youth Association at 487 Daniel Webster Highway Merrimack, NH 03054.

Aloha and A HUI HOU

As we have just heard of Bob's passing we would like to offer our condolences for your loss. Bob was always smiling and in good spirits when he was around us. On a personal note, Bob was one of the first customers I had the pleasure of dealing with when i arrived here and he had become an absolute favorite of mine since then. He and I spoke at length over and over about things other than his vehicle repair during his visits. He was a wonderful person. He and his infectious smile will be...

So sorry to hear of Bobs passing. I had the pleasure of working with Bob for a few brief years of his long tenure. He was such a kind and brilliant man. He had a way of making hard work fun. My sincere condolences go out to all the friends and family whose hearts Bob touched.

Eylene, Julian and Gabe I am so very sorry for your loss. I have such good memories of Bob and all of you as our boys grew up together. Many prayers and positive thoughts for you and your family.

Very sorry to hear of Bobs passing. We are sending our deepest condolences. Our thoughts are prayers are with Eyleen, Gabe and Julian.

I was saddened to hear of Bobs passing. I last met cousin Bob at the family reunion 2 years ago. Bob seemed like such an extraordinary person and enjoyed the outdoors. Bob always had a smile on face and was a blessing to be around. I am grateful to have known him and send you my deepest condolences.

It breaks our hearts to lose Bob at such a time of vitality and adventure! We last saw him the day he left for his Thailand trek, when we spent the day together with his boys enjoying the best of Boston. His warmth and generosity of spirit always made us feel special. We will miss you, dear brother-in-law.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
