Not sure what to say?

Read his book The Pilot several times. My parents were divorced and
I flew back and forth from Florida to
Ohio many times. First on prop airliners, later on jets. Served on an aircraft carrier in the Navy, my father
was a waist gunner on a B-24 in WW2. Always had an affinity for planes and flying. Mr. Davis captured
the feelings that I have always had
in this book. I would love to have had
the opportunity to have taken a flight on an old DC-3 airliner with him,...

Bob was a good friend and we shared a lot of stories while working together at Fort Lee for many many years. Miss him dearly. He knew his history and told you about it as well. He is in heaven educating everyone up there I'm sure. God Bless

Bob was a great man. There was nothing he would not do for anyone!!! Great friend. Rest in peace. Mr and Mrs. Donald W. Utton

Bob was a friend and comrade. He was a good man, in every sense of "good" and in every sense a MAN. I have many fond memories of working with him at Battersea for the Battle of Petersburg reenactments, and just chatting about things military and historical. I will miss him greatly.

My family and the reenacting community are saddened at Bob's passing. He was a true gentleman who will always bring a smile whenever I think of him. I posted the following notice on a national site for Revolutionary War reenactors for all of us who and loved Bob.

“I just read about Bob, this was a real shocker to me. I do not know how many of you knew him but Bob was a class act. He had reenacted since he was in the "real" US Army at Fort Lee, VA....

My thoughts are with the family. Mr. Davis was a wonderful guy. He taught me a lot about the history of the military with the interesting stories he would tell. He will be missed!
