I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your Dad when he was a banjo and guitar player at John Ernst Cafe. My father was a long time waiter there and I remember working as a busboy with my Dad and listening to the great music he and Wally (last name?) the bass player made. I took lessons from him (late 60's to early 70's) at Uncle Bob's Music shop in the attic room when they were by Capital Court.
Fond memories abound from those days. When he would score a song for me to learn (sitting to my left), he would doodle parts of the song on a Gibson ES-335 dot - flipping it over on his lap to notate on lined paper using the back of the guitar as a desk. The guitar would be...

What a great musician and an even greater guy! Not only was I privileged to be one of his students, way back when, but he remained a friend of the family for nearly 40 years. He will be dearly missed but NEVER forgotten!
