Mr. Robert F. Delaney, of St. Peters, formally of Warrenton, MO., passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Robert was born on May 23, 1929, in Montgomery, PA., to Benjamin F. and Lucy M. (nee: Beck) Delaney. He had reached the age of 89 years and 11 months.
Robert served our country in the United States Navy from September 24, 1950 - July 23, 1954. He was married to Dorothy Elaine Almgren on March 28, 1952 in the St. Peters Chapel at Mate Island Naval Shipyard. To this union 5 children were born; Michael, Mark, Gary, Kevin and Carol. Robert was a minister for 10 years and then a teacher for 25. He and his wife were members of Grace Community Chapel in St. Peters for several years. He taught Sunday School for many years as well. Robert enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing and also enjoyed wood working. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin and Lucy, two sisters; Delores McKee and Betty Engle, one brother; Sterling Delaney. He survived by his loving wife; Elaine, four sons; Michael, Mark, Gary, and Kevin, one daughter; Carol Wells, three grandchildren; Tara, Jonathon and Matthew, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27, 2019 at Grace Community Chapel, 7661 Mexico Road, St. Peter's MO., 63376, at 6:00 PM. A burial will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
