Not sure what to say?

I took a class with Prof. Dewar in the late 90's at NYU. What a mind-expansion that was. Kind, funny, brilliant man. RIP.

Professor Dewar was my teacher for undergraduate studies in 1984 and again for graduate studies in 1991. I always remember his enormous enthusiasm as well as his powerful insights and how they could carry an entire class' attention. And of course, how could one not be impressed by someone who could write an RS-232 driver in 8086 assembly language at the blackboard!

Professor Dewar was my MS thesis advisor at IIT, and I took other several courses from him. He was a great and patient teacher. I remember him also for his productions of Gilbert & Sullivan musicals at IIT.

Prof Dewar was an incredibly good teacher. I was lucky to be one of his students back in 1983 at NYU. -Alexandre Polozoff

My deepest condolences to you, Jenny and Keith, both from me personally and on behalf of the many Philbeach members who met Robert through our British American Light Opera Exchanges. He was such an enthusiastic participant and contributed so much. He will be sadly missed.

Robert was a brilliant and wonderful man. i knew him for nearly 40 years since we worked closely together. He will be missed by all of us who knew and loved him.
