Robert "Bob" Dodd

Mr. Dodd was a very patient man. We didn't know each other well, but when I needed help he was there.

Coach Dodd. He is synonymous with Bulldog Football. His players loved being coached by Bob.
A player often tasted his wit and humor (during the same play). They knew he would be right, and they would have a great story to tell.
I consider this one of the best. A young lineman whiffed on a block. Dodd asked him what happened. The lineman replied., "I was triple teamed!" To which Coach replied, " You ain't worth 3 guys."

Bobby Dodd was like a big brother to me. He teased me always in the neighborhood, at school, ALWAYS! Our school friends, the Class of VCHS 1961, were the best of friends and then Bob stole the HEART of one of my “Besties”. It has been with great Joy and Sorrow that we have always remained close in spirit.... until I see you again, good buddy. Bobbie
