WOODBRIDGE: Robert M. "Bobby" Donahue, a resident of Woodbridge, CT passed away peacefully on March 5, 2017.
Bob, a graduate of Derby High School, was an accomplished man who obtained a variety of skills in his life time. He began his career working as a mechanic and volunteer fireman and eventually spent most of his professional life as a police detective for the City of Derby before retiring after 25 years. He found joy in serving the community where he had such fond childhood memories. He will be remembered as a compassionate and loving individual who sought to help others.
Bob is survived by his wife Karen of 27 years, son Evan; brothers: Dennis J. Donahue of Derby, John P. Donahue of Grantville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving mother Margaret Owen Donahue in 2011 and his caring son Collin J. Donahue.
By request of the family, strictly private funeral services will be held at Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home in Ansonia, CT for immediate family. Memorial contributions may be sent in memory of Bob to One Big Dog Animal Respite Fund, 135 Bradley Road, Woodbridge, CT 06525.
