Doucette, Robert "Bob" Born to Eternal Life on Monday, April 2, 2007 surrounded by his six loving children, Diane (Dan) Mancini, Dan (Elizabeth) Doucette, Steve (Pam) Doucette, Peggy (Jim) Doucette-Henken, Rob (Karen) Doucette and Nancy (Jim) Doucette-Wilkinson. Dynamic Papa of 19 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Mickey and sisters Pat, Sis and Marie. Survived by brothers Jack Doucette, Tom Doucette and his sister Josie Maceau. Remembered well by many other relatives and good friends. Bob was born in Milwaukee and spent his lifetime creating enjoyable traditions to bring family and friends together. Bob was a true "home grown" boy who graduated from St. Sebastian Grade School, Marquette High School and Marquette University. Bob was a proud veteran of WW II and a highly decorated member of the Air Force where he received three distinguished flying crosses, five air medals and a Burma Cross while serving in the China-Burma-India Theatre. He often stated that the best part of the war was meeting his future wife, Mickey McMorrow, during basic training. Bob married his beautiful "Irish lass" and spent the next 58 years with her enjoying life to the fullest while raising six strong children. Bob spent his working life at Milwaukee Mutual Insurance, where he first traveled the state selling policies and then helped build the much larger Milwaukee Insurance Company, where he eventually became President and CEO. He loved the business but always felt both he and the company had an obligation to help promote and improve Milwaukee as evidenced by his enthusiastic backing of the City of Festivals Parade, The Pettit Ice Center and a plethora of other civic activities. Bob was especially committed to working with innovative schools such as Harambee, Urban Day, Messmer, Marquette High and DSHA. He was touched by the inspired ministry of healthcare workers and gave tirelessly over the years to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Froedtert Hospital's Palliative Care Unit, The Arthritis Foundation and his most passionate cause St. Anne's Center for Intergenerational Care. Bob's great loves in life, beyond his wife and family, were meeting people and chasing illusive trophy fish all over Wisconsin and Canada. Bob and Mickey traveled the world, usually in the company of friends whom Bob convinced to join them on a "trip of a lifetime". He never lost his childhood love of planes, hot air balloons, kites, games of all kinds and the Packers. Bob's legendary and infectious "cackle" of a laugh was evidence of how much he loved people and the gift of life. He was happiest when he convened family and friends for love and a good cause. Visitation on Friday, April 13 at the Funeral Home from 3:30 to 8 PM. Relatives and friends may join the family Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, (1755 North Calhoun Road, Brookfield) for the 10:30 AM Memorial Mass in memory of Bob. Preceding the mass from 9:45-10:30am, some of Bob's favorite music will be played and all are invited to join the family. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Anne's Center for Intergenerational Care and Be The Change, Inc are appreciated. The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the staff at Zilber Hospice for the friendship and care extended toward their father and to Dr. Eckstein, Dr. Forsythe, Dr. Marr and Dr. Regalie for their professional and personal attention. "For the special man who knew the source of all his blessings and tried to return them in kind to those in need, may he now rest in God's loving care." Not sure what to say?

Thankyou for being a good neighbor.

Remembering Bob is as simple as looking into my childrens' eyes. He changed the direction of their lives in the most positive way. Doing so, he changed our family dynamic as well. He gave our children a future and changed ours forever. A thank you is fleeting, a memory forever. We will always remember.

My deepest condolences to the family. Past National Commander CBIVA

Dear Rob and Family,
I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. We were out of town last week otherwise I would have come to see you. You and your family our in our prayers at this time.

Dear Doucette Family,
I know I can speak on behalf of US Speed Skating in saying that Bob and his presence will be truely missed through our sport and of course the Pettit Center. With out Bob and his dedication to the Center our sport would not be where it is today. I personally thank him for making my last few years as a competitor not only more enjoyable to have such a awesome facility to train and race in, but having a place like the Pettit helped me to make my dreams come true. We...

Ted and I have such great memories of the times spent with Bob and Mickey, and the Milwaukee "family" Bob was a very special man.
Our thoughts and prayers will be with you all. God Bless

My sincere sympathy to everyone in the Doucette family.

May God comforts all of you during this time of sadness. It was a great pleasure knowing Bob and working with him during my career at MI. As I recall clearly, Bob was a delight to work with and his participations in those talent shows were truly memorable. He was a legend, a legend that we will all missed at MI.

I wonder who will wear Bob's party shoes and jacket next? My prayers are with you all, take care and God bless!

My deepest sympathy. May God be with you all during this time.

I will miss his "duck" shoes at the MI parties.....One of you needs to wear them! Oh yes, including the "jacket".

Take care, all.
