Douglass, Robert Leslie October 11th, age 82, late of Homewood, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Koester), loving father of Elizabeth Ellen Douglass-Balboa of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Richard L. (Brenda McGadney) Douglass of Pinckney, Michigan and Ronald L. (Chloe) Douglass of Clark Lake, Michigan, cherished grandfather of 11, great-grandfather of seven, brother of the late Lotus Braden. Mr. Douglass was known throughout the Homewood-Flossmoor area as a private teacher of the Clarinet and Saxophone. His students learned more than just to play their instruments, they also learned to apply Beauty and Art throughout their lives. Mr. Douglass was a WWII Marine Veteran having served in the South Pacific. He was also an active lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Homewood. Resting at the Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Highway, Homewood, Sunday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial services 2:00 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church of Homewood, 17929 Gottschalk, Homewood. In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Presbyterian Church of Homewood would be appreciated. 708-798-5300.
