Robert Dowdle Obituary
He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne B. Dowdle; father, Robert Earl Dowdle; mother, Ruth Dowdle; and sister, Margaret Ann Fields.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Galloway and Carol La Fleur; son, Robert Steven Dowdle; brothers, Thomas A. Dowdle and Nelson Dowdle; grandchildren, Erin Bledsoe, Corey Stenman, Ashley Easterling, Alison Dowdle, Anna Galloway, Cameron Dowdle, Adam Stenman, Austin Stenman, Saige Stenman; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dowdle graduated from Tuscaloosa County, Class of 1956. He worked for GM&O Railroad 1960-1968, earning the position of conductor. He attended The University of Alabama, receiving a BA in Education and an MA in Counseling and Guidance. He worked for the State of Alabama from 1972-1998 as a Vocational Rehab Counselor.
Pallbearers will be Thomas A. Dowdle, Nelson Dowdle, Mike Davidson, Corey Stenman, Cameron Dowdle and Stewart Easterling.
Honorary pallbearers are Tims Dowdle, Mark Atkins and Hubert Caston.
