Not sure what to say?

Bob gave me my first job as personnel diretor at Ben Franklin.I am now a Senior Vice president of Human Resource Consulting Services for a major Northwest company-Ameriben/IEC Group.I have many fond memories working with Bob and all the staff.

I had the pleasure of working at Benj. Franklin for 31 years. Those were growth years for the business with plenty of competition. His suggestions and advice were very useful and contributed to my career. Margaret, our thoughts are with you and your family.

Bob was a great friend and a wonderful mentor. When I took over the Oregon Savings and Loan League he was the expert I turned to for advice and counsel more than anyone else.
We will remember him fondly for all the good times and for all
the assistance he provided me.
Our condolences to Margaret and the family.

It is always difficult to learn that another school chum has passed from this earth. I have always admired Bob as a friend, an occasional school days "date", and as a piano duet pal. Last I heard, he and Margaret and I were about to meet again after these many long years - and then a "setback". I am so sorry, Margaret, that we never did get together. My own husband died in December, 2007, so I do have an inkling of your feelings today. May the Lord comfort you and your family as you face...

In my 10-year employment @ the Benjamin Franklin Savings & Loan as a direct report to Bob Downie for a number of years, I experienced a wonderful Boss to work for. We had many great chats about boating, especially when Bob was awaiting arrival of his new boat from oversees, which had a misfortune somewhere in the Pacific. Bob was the BEST!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
