My Grandfather, Robert Bates Doyle, was a witty, warm and (above all) extremely intelligent man. He was interested in a wide variety of subjects, including economics (of course), history, sports (especially golf and baseball) and literature. I can’t recall a time that I visited his house where there wasn’t a book on some subject or other sitting on his coffee table. Yesterday, we lost our dad and friend, Robert Doyle. He had many health issues the past few years, but he continued an active and fulfilling life right to the end. We will remember and miss his wonderful wit, his warmth, and his love for his family.
