Andrews Funeral Home - Gloucester Obituary

Robert Michael Ealey, age 69, of Gloucester, entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

His father-in-law, James D. Harris, preceded Robert in death. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Dianne, mother-in-law Lucille Harris, daughters Janée Ealey (Chris) and Elisa Nelson (Keith), granddaughters Avery Cady and Delilah Nelson, and his best grand-dog, Belle.

Robert’s life-long passion was helping others. This was always evident during his 35-year career working alongside his wife, daughter, and son-in-law in their insurance agency. During his distinguished career, he earned many service related awards and was a member and past president of the Peninsula Association of Life Underwriters, CLU Chapter, and the Peninsula Estate Planning Council. Most near and dear to his heart, was Rotary International. Robert was a member of the Gloucester Point Rotary Club for 26 years, having perfect attendance, serving as past president, twice awarded Rotarian of the Year and he earned the distinguished Paul Harris Fellow. Robert was also a huge supporter of the Gloucester Social Services.

The family would like to thank his special nurses, Ahmad, Christy, Jennifer, Karen, Kayla, Mary, and Tabitha for their compassionate care over these last few months.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester, from 6:30-8:00 pm.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloucester Point Rotary Club, PO Box 421, White Marsh, VA 23183.

Robert dedicated his life to serving others above himself. May his legacy and many efforts live on through the lives of others.

He was a tremendous help and a wealth of information to me and I so appreciated his guidance. Additionally, I graduated from Newport News High School in 1969 with Robert's brother, Larry. There is a Newport News High School Alumni page on Facebook that has listed his obituary and where several old classmates and friends have posted their...

To the Ealey Family,

We offer our sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Ealey. He was very knowledgeable and professional in his career and an asset to the business community.
