Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC - Pen Argyl Obituary

Robert R. Edwards, 83, of Plainfield Township, passed away, Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth.   He was the husband of the late Carole E. (Serfass) Edwards, who passed away, March 6, 2018.


Born in Pen Argyl, September 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Russell and Lucinda (Steinmetz) Edwards.


He was a 1955 graduate of Pen Argyl High School and prior to retiring in 1999, he was employed as a Senior Tool Designer for Ingersoll Rand, Phillipsburg, NJ.


Bob was an avid Pen Argyl Football, Penn State Football and Philadelphia Eagles Football fan.  He was formerly a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Pen Argyl and the former 21 Radio Club.


He is survived by a daughters, Rebecca Oberembt and her husband Butch of Palmer Township, two grandchildren, Jonathan Mulrooney and Kaitlyn Drumbore and her husband Michael, a sister, Nancy K. Curcio of Wind Gap, nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew.


In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Carole.


Graveside services will be held, Thursday, December 3, 2020, at 11:30 AM at Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield Township.  There will be a viewing beginning at 10 AM until 10:45 AM, Thursday at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl.  Due to present Covid-19 restrictions, a maximum of 25 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time, observing social distancing and mask requirements. Online condolences may be offered at www.ruggierofuneralhome.com.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to a charity of one’s choice.

Bob was a classmate and friend for a long time as our fathers worked together at Bethlehem Steel during the war. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to Nancy, Rebecca and family, I will certainly miss Bob and all of you. Will definitely miss watching the high school football games on a Friday night, here at Moravian.
