Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

Warner, NH.  Robert “Bob” Egan, of Warner, New Hampshire suffered a non-survivable stroke and passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, at Concord Hospital with his children Jenn and Chris by his side.

Bob was born on January 26, 1944, in East Orange, New Jersey. He frequently spoke of working on a farm in his early life before transitioning to selling insurance. He was a natural salesman with a strong entrepreneurial streak that inspired him to move his young family to New Hampshire in 1979 where he purchased an ice cream shop and game room. When he added a pizza restaurant, "Egan’s Place" was born. Running a restaurant came with its challenges, but Bob confidently embraced them all. He truly enjoyed the social life of chatting with customers on busy summer nights. From then on, Bob had various restaurants and businesses that employed many of the local teenagers over the years. He has often been described as a “second father” to several past employees.

Bob was a generous man who always lent a helping hand to others. He took immense pride in his business ventures and the many employees who became life-long friends. In recent years, he took joy in renovating rundown houses and turning them into places new owners called home. Always on the lookout for a good deal, he appreciated both the chase and the sale. Buying and selling was his passion.

An obituary can’t truly describe the breadth and depth of the connections Bob made over the years. His family will remember him as a loving, tender, and attentive man who always had their best interests in mind. He loved keeping in touch with family and friends and enjoyed spending time chatting on the phone or meeting for a cup of coffee.

Bob cherished his dogs and loved spending his free time with them, fishing when he found time, feeding the birds, and playing ZZ Top at a high volume.

Bob is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Phil), his son Chris (Elaine); and his granddaughter Ellie who will miss her Grandpa Bob. He will be dearly missed by his extended family of cousins and nieces as well as many friends.

To honor Bob’s love of his dogs and celebrate his memory, his family asks that donations be made to local animal shelters or rescues.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on August 24th, at 89 Mink Hill Lane in Warner, New Hampshire.

Not sure what to say?

We knew Bob when he had a horse in Union N. J. Spent many days with him at Little Coral. We saw him a couple of times after he moved to N. H. Was a wonderful man. Our thoughts are with Chris and Jennifer

So sorry to hear the sad news. Bob was so good to me when I purchased one of his renovated homes in Warner. It was my first purchase on my own and he made sure that even after the purchase I was comfortable with everything working and running ok. We had some good conversations together. I am so grateful for his kindness.! Sending my deepest condolences!

I apologize for sending this message so late. I was very Saddened to hear the News of Bob's passing. I knew Bob for many years. Starting with "Egan's Place" , which was my haunt on many evenings back as a Student at Kearsarge! I Loved the Friday and Saturday Nights filled with Video Games and Friends, Pizza and Ice Cream. It was our Favorite "Hang-Out" in New London! I also frequented the Restaurant when it moved up the Street from the original "Egans" next to Heath & Lull. I drove his...

Bob was so special to both me and my pup Mytus! Grateful I got to attend one more lasagna fest and share stories with him, but Warner won´t be the same without him. He always had the most encouraging and kind words for me, he will be missed more than words can describe.

So glad I got a last hug in a week before he died. Will miss his wit and friendship. Many happy memories

Rest Easy my Oakland Street (Irvington, NJ) Friend. My condolences to Jennifer and Chris and Family.
