Bob was my older brother by 18 months. Obviously, he was Mary Kay's brother-in-law.
My earliest memory of Bob was from a time when I was about two years old and Mother was taking the two of us somewhere on a train. As the train left the station and picked up speed Bob took off one of my shoes and threw it out of the open window thereby upsetting Mother to no end.

Uncle Bob possessed a sense of humor that could start with an astute observation and end up in a light hearted manner with an amused chuckle.

We visited Bob and Dorothy in Washington, D.C. during his time employed there and had a schedule organized by Dorothy to see as many of the sites as possible. We had included a session of Congress in the wish list. Bob observed that little children should never see sausage being made or Congress in session.

"Uncle Bob" was truly one of a kind. He was tough, spirited, a man of family, and a deep believer and advocate in "vitamin" chocolate :). Oh he did like milk chocolate! How he could eat that and stay so lean?!

He would do anything for his loved ones and - basically - did. He and Aunt Dorothy were a huge support to my parents and then later, us. Never a question, always there. Something I love about our family, in general.

I will miss my oldest brother, a very special part of our family. He was such an important part of my life and my family's. Another of the "greatest generation" not with us anymore.
