I have fond memories of Col. Eitel from my days at Jesuit High School. He was a kind and gentle person who was a major influence in my life. I remember going to his home for a picnic prior to traveling to Washington, D.C. after the physical fitness team made the national finals. You could see how much he adored his wife and family who were just as warm and embracing as he was. He led an extraordinary life and shared many of his experiences (including Viet Nam) with his students. My sympathies...
