Not sure what to say?

Commander Elder;

You were an amazing man, leader, mentor, friend, and just so many things to so many people both on and off the job. You were truly the epitome of a cops cop. A true and genuine hero.
I looked up to and admired you in countless ways and will never forget you for just as many reasons.
You will be deeply missed.
May the Lord bless you and your loved ones.

Joe Marino

Kiwanis of Oxnard Distinguished Past President

I am saddened that I was only able to meet Bob a few times through the Oxnard Kiwanis. I know that the strong beliefs and culture we have is in part due to his legacy. He will be missed.

My dear friend, Karen, and Deana and Brock, Words cannot express how sad I am for you and your family. Bob was such a great guy, funny and warm, always with a kind word, making you feel welcome in his home. The world is a better place because he was in it. Take care, my friend, and keep those memories close to your heart. Anita & K.C. Lawrence

To the most amazing husband. I miss you on the couch, watching TV with me -- our favorite pasttime. You brought me and our children so much joy! I miss you so desperately.

Karen, I'm so sorry for your and the kid's loss. Bob was a nice fellow and my son liked visiting your home. Bob will be missed by many.

I remember when I first met Officer Elder back in 1970 when I started with labor pains expecting my second child, couldn't quite make it to the hospital and Officer Elder responded to the call and am proud to say delivered Renee Michell Gonzales We were invited to his retirement party as his special guest, where he met Renee for the second time.....Det. Elder was well respected and loved thru out the community. I will miss him dearly....May he rest in Paradise....

I first met Bob when Little League was just getting started at Elm St School in the mid 50's. A lot of good memories of that time and later years through high school. Bob was 2 yrs older and one to be looked up to back then. My prayers go out to the family, Bob's wife and children and my old friend Billy... Rest In Peace Bob
