So sorry, I've just saw this now. Bob was quite a character but also a positive influence. He is the one who invited me to join the legion. My condolences.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Bob was truly a good person and a great Legion Commander.

To the family of Bob Elkowitz. I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was a good friend and a wonderful soldier who was patriotic to the core. We will honor him at the next Engineer Association memorial. My deepest sympathy.

Family of Bob: Having been the commander of the 1435th when Bob joined and have always consider him a friend I will greatly miss him. What a joy Bob added to life. My best to all of you.

To Family & Friends of Bob Elkowitz: I have many fond memories of Bob while serving I the 1435 & 207 Engineers in Bay City. Bob was always at the center of things. With his gravelly voice he was always telling a story or making people a laugh. He was one of my favorite people. My sympathy on his passing. He will be missed.

Bob and I go back quite a few years and a lot of miles. He was fun to be around could hand out jokes and take them to. He was so proud of the place up North, he would call me and tell me how beautiful it was. Bob came out to Las Vegas a few times to visit with us and let me tell you we had a ball.
