Not sure what to say?

Professor Ellrich has a fine place in my memory from my French major studies at UW way back in the 1990s. His big smile and jolly demeanor brightened the classroom. He was quick to offer up a cultural anecdote with a good laugh. I enjoyed reading his obituary and learning so much more about this kind and joyful man than the few facets one sees in the classroom. A dieu!

Bob was a delightful neighbor and conversationalist. His indestructible sorrel plants live on in our garden and I think of him each time I see them or eat a bowl of soupe à l'oseille.

I have such wonderful memories of Uncle Bob in our kitchen laughing and singing with my Mom! When my husband and I went to see him this past June, we could still see his love for life, music and antiques around his room and in his eyes. I love you Uncle Bob and I'll miss you a lot!

I miss my fun friend and neighbor very much and am honored to have known him - such a learned man and such a true free spirit! I so enjoyed afternoon tea and listening to Chopin (in particular) with him! Gwen, Seattle, WA.

I have fond memories of my uncle Bob. He was the "fun and full of life" Uncle who came to town and brought you to the beach and clamming for dinner. He will surely be missed

Bob was a generous spirit- a wonderful teacher and host. I have many fond memories of wine under the arbor, delicious meals, fabulous conversation, foraging for mushrooms in Ravenna Park and kitty sitting for the lovely Louise from my years at the UW in the early '80s. So sorry to hear of his death.

I wish we'd met more than only a couple of times. Happy trails, Uncle Bob.

Bob was a wonderful teacher, PhD advisor, and friend. I miss him.
