Not sure what to say?

Rob was my neighbor for many years. Over the last decade and a half we shared many conversations---about art, politics, travel, gardening, or where-ever the day's turn of conversation might lead. I was quietly proud of his accomplishments; whether it was attending his Regent's lecture, or discussing his exhibitions in Russia, China, or US. Talking with Rob was always interactive---because he was a true listener who cared about what other people said. I wish to share a brief story, which...

The memories of our time together from children until adulthood are flooding back to me. I will miss your smile and laughter. I was awed by your gift to turn ordinary paper into something beautiful and inspiring. Thank you for being a part of my life.

I never got to know Rob Erdle as well as I wanted to. So much about him has always inspired me though: his artwork, his spirit that always shone through his eyes, and the way he loved his AMAZING wife, the wonderful Millie Giles.

Rob,
You were a wonderful teacher and a good friend. I will always remember those great demonstrations you did for us in class and all the great tips you gave me when dealing with brush strokes and color theory. You were a excellent mentor! Thank you.

Rob, the last time I was in Venice marching over "Fisty Cuff Bridge" I thought of all the great times I had with you and Millie in Europe and of course the night sessions with Sandy and Millie at your home. I can't say I got much out of my experience at UNT other than the friendships that I made there. I was lucky to have you as one of them all these years. As
the French say, "Ou est le Topsy!"

Rob was one of the finest instructors I have encountered.

My short time as one of his students left me humbled by his talent, and inspired by his instruction.

Thanks Rob.

Dear Rob,

I am deeply saddened by your passing. Thank you for all you taught me - your influence went beyond just watercolor. I will never forget your guidance during my undergraduate days at UNT. You were always my favorite professor and I will miss you so much.

Rob has left such an incredible mark in the world and a daily reminder of his presence in our home through his art. He will be sorely missed.
