Robert “Bob” Griner Evans, 88, most recently of Brownsburg Indiana went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after contracting Covid 19 and reunited with his lifetime love Margaret “Ann” Evans on December 8, 2020. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 22, 1932 to William “Bill” Evans and Margaret Rose (Griner) Evans.


Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Margaret Ann (Williams) Evans, his sister Jane Kline, his brother John L. Evans and his grandson Evan P. Smock.


Survivors include two daughters Claire Abel (Bryan) and Lisa Wiesehan(Ronald) and one son RobertEvans (Jayne), 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.


After serving in the Army in Germany and following an honorable discharge he returned to marry Margaret Ann Williams December 29, 1956.


Always the entrepreneur, Bob’s early career included opening Evans Flower Shop in Terre Haute, Indiana while attending Wiley High School, which he operated with the help of family and friends. Bob later went into the restaurant business and eventually purchased a cafeteria (Evans Cafeteria at 52 nd & College Ave,Indianapolis, In) he and the family operated in the late 70’s and mid 80’s.


Private services are being handled by Conkle Funeral Home, Avon, In and St. Gabriel Catholic Church,  Indianapolis, In. Bob will be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, In.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St Gabriel's Catholic Church in Bob’s name.
