Robert F. Fallon, known affectionately by some as Billy Bob, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the age of 84. He was born in Goldthwaite, Texas to Johnny Claude and Julia Elizabeth Bohannon Fallon. The youngest of five children, Mr. Fallon's family moved to Big Spring, Texas when he was four years old. He remained there until 1963 when the T&P was bought by the Mo-Pac. At that time, he transferred to St. Louis, Missouri where he met and married his wife of 45 years, Judith Marie (Pizzella) Fallon. During his years working and providing for his family Bob was employed by Union Pacific Railroad where he had responsibility for the Western United States. He also designed software for freight movement and served the company at Big Spring, Texas, Little Rock, Arkansas and St. Louis, Missouri.
Bob was an avid golfer, loved to watch sports of all types and did the crossword puzzle in the newspaper every day in ink! Bob was a member of the Merchant Marine, serving from 1944 through 1946.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Berlie Fallon.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Fallon; three daughters, Patricia Murdock and husband Charles and Sue Gage both of San Antonio, Texas, Julia McConahy and husband Michael of Grass Valley, California; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Fallon of Idaho Falls, Idaho and a sister, Charlene Lamb of Alvin, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that a donation be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or a charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service and life celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in the chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with Chaplain Dean Hamilton officiating. Burial will be held at Trinity Memorial Cemetery in Big Springs, Texas.
