I met Robert in 1990. He impressed me as a fine, upright Christian man with an amazingly bright mind. Generous, compassionate, and always reaching out to others in need, Robert was a source of friendship and Christian comfort when my life went through very dark times. His generosity and compassion were demonstrated by what he did with and for Neil Avenue Baptist Church over the years and also by his work with Civitans.

Robert also impressed me with his passion for the Civil War....

Thou I knew Robert just 14 years, his quiet personality will be missed. I enjoyed listening to him tell of Civil War events as if he had been there, he seemed to know all the details. I enjoyed doing Civitan events with him like Sno Cones at Special Olympics, Golf outings, Fruit Cake sales and servicing Candy Boxes. Roberts smile and hugs will be missed - thou I know that God is enjoying them now. Thank you God for sharing Robert with us,we are better people because of him.
