Not sure what to say?

Mr. Fitzsimmons was my math teacher at Roosevelt Jr. High School. I attended from 1960-1963. Math has always been my worst subject in school by far. I was an office aide and would get to school super early. He would see me in the office and after a while, decided to tutor me to help my math grade. I could always get the answers correct with him by my side, by the time I walked home (10 minutes) I had already forgotten how to do the work. College was particularly difficult although I only had...

All the students at Roosevelt who knew Mr Fitzsimmons well called him Mr Fitz. He was more than a teacher to me he was the second father and a very dear friend after graduating Roosevelt and then Thomas Jefferson High School we stayed in contact over the years which span the long time I miss him I miss talking to him we had some great conversations. And the guys I hung around with he kept me out of trouble by keeping me away from those guys a friend like him comes along once in a lifetime and...

A great principal, tough but fair, I missed teaching at Roosevelt middle school. It was well run by a competent, caring administrator, RIP Mr Fitz

Condolences to his family. He was a wonderful principal and a great boss. He made sure Roosevelt was an excellent educational experience.

Mr. Fitzsimmons was one of my most memorable teachers. He went above and beyond to try to teach me math. I was good in all subjects except math was my downfall. I went to Roosevelt from 1960-63. I was an office aide and had to be in school early for that. He noticed I was there super early one day and began tutoring me in the morning before school started. I could always "get it" when someone was helping me but then it was just gone. I even started going to the nurse saying I was ill to skip...

Mr. Fitzsimmons was my Math teacher at Roosevelt back in the mid-60s. He was one of my favorite teachers there.
May he rest in Heavenly peace. I know he will be missed by many.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr Bob, was such a great person. I remember him as a child and he working with my dad, Louis, (Buddy), Salinardo at Roosevelt. He was always laughing and joking. So sad another Great Teacher/Principal in the Elizabeth School System. My prayers to the Family.
