Not sure what to say?

Bob was one of our favorite clients here in North Scottsdale. He was such a bright and articulate man with a huge heart and a great sense of humor. We all feel blessed for having known Bob if even only for a short time. May God Bless the Flater family. Know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers here in Arizona. Bob was a truly bright light in our lives; he will be missed so very much. We thank God for giving such a gift to the world. He made it a better place. He gave you hope in...

Debbie and Mr. & Mrs. Flater, I’m terribly sorry for your loss. From Newport to New York, from Nassau to Budapest and Buenos Aires, Bob and I, together with many other friends had lots of laughs and spent hours talking over the years and I will miss him terribly. There are so many stories I think of when Bob pops into my head, most of which are very funny, but one in particular comes to mind when considering Bob’s friendship. Several years ago when my father died our family had his funeral...

Bob was a student in my German I and II classes when I was a beginning teacher. Besides being a strong student, he was always a pleasure to know, both in and out of class. I am now back at Malden Catholic, after twenty years in other schools, serving as Headmaster since 1999. I pray for Bob, his family and his friends.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with the Flater family. Although I did not know Bob, from the few things I knew about him I, I know that we have lost a brilliant, meticulous and exceptional person.

As you can imagine, for Bob to precede my parents in death has been more painful than words could ever express. For me, I have lost my "little" brother, my only sibling. Needless to say, we loved him more than he ever knew. My parents and I have heard from so many of Bob's friends, colleagues, and former classmates since his sudden and untimely death. Their stories of Bob and his work and accomplishments have made us proud, made us cry, and made us laugh. Their stories of him as a friend, of...

Bob Flater

Bob, friends and the family, This is such shocking news. I had an email from Bob on the 5th saying he had pneumonia and was taking medicine after going to the Doctor's. And that he would call me on the 6th. He didn't and I supposed he didn't feel well and didn't try to reach him until this week. I was lucky enough to see Bob last October in Scottsdale after several years of no contact. He called me last August and so when I came to town we spent a weekend together and as usual he was great...

There are so many memories of Bob that I have, but one of the best is when we were in Nassau together and findnig out that there were Holy Cross spring breakers at the same bar, Bob's reaction was we need to meet them, so we did. And of course a few months later we are at HC and all of a sudden a student in the bookstore yells to her friends, hey it's the guys from the Bahamas and so a lot of students came running over to say hi and of course they were glad to see us.
