Not sure what to say?

I met Bob at Atlantic Street House, a politically active communal home in Bridgeton, NJ during the late '70s. Bob lived nearby and was a regular visitor helping us to cook up interesting ways of promoting positive social change. Kind, smart, and playful he was fun to be with and a good friend. He happened to be in San Francisco while I was briefly ensnared in the Moonies during a cross-country trip. Bob basically figured out how to rescue me without alarming them. He was strategic, friendly,...

Bob Flug and I were roommates at Tufts University; we shared our undergraduate sophomore year together at Miller Hall. And what a year it was! In some ways, it was the beginning of my life. It certainly is safe to say that after 1963-64, life changed for all of us.

Scant weeks after the beginning of the school year we got the news of the JFK presidential assassination. Bob's endless fascination for electrical micro-switches had led him to restore an old wire-recorder that he now...

I just read of Bob's passing in the OSB Journal and am very saddened. I worked with Bob at Legal Services and always appreciated his warm smile and encouraging words. He exuded kindness and warmth. I send my sympathy to Leslea and his many family members and friends.

I knew Bob in Bridgeton, NJ where I lived in the 1970s in a communal house and Bob was one of our regular visitors. He was funny and kind, always great to have around.
One regret was an idea we never implemented in a mayoral race in this very conservative, old colonial town. Legend had it that a local hero, General Giles, left for battle against the British, saying "Don't change anything until I get back." Giles, unfortunately, died in battle. Our reform campaign idea was to have Bob,...

Bob and I served together as Peace Corps volunteers in Costa Rica. My wife and I always looked forward to going to the capital city, San Jose, for per chance to bump into Bob. His humor, wit and warmth would always make our day. Later on when I worked in D.C. for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Bob and I would get together for lunch when he was in town.
Bob's charm, warmth and wit will be sorely missed. He always left me with a smile on my face and made my day a happier one. ...

I met Bob in the early '80's when we were both doing community video. Then we were in the same poker group for a while, and I learned he was going to law school. Later I would see him and learned he was working for Legal Aid. He was always good natured and giving. The world is a little dimmer.

My condolences to family and close friends - I was saddened to hear the news and have fond thoughts of Bob.

I just saw Bob and two of his sisters drinking coffee at Elephants in NW Portland a few weeks ago ...so this news was shocking. Bob always exuded warmth and humor as we shared tales of NYC and of his donut machine. We will miss his presence in the neighborhood. Our condolences to Bob's family.

Bob was so kind to me when I first started working at OPB. His sense of humor was like a tonic to this newbie.

He will be missed.
