Not sure what to say?

I am very grateful to Prof. Robert A. Forsberg for his offered advce, fruitful discussion and assistance at all stages of My Ph.D. dissertation at the UW in 1988. Rest in peace.

Bob was gentle man. He taught me breeding courses and helped me in the supervision of my thesis along with my major professor H.L.Shands. God bless their souls .

Dr. Forsberg introduced me to applied plant breeding when he hosted my visit to the Agronomy Department in 1981. He took me to the field and immediately put me to work entering the 'snap-back' number in oats into the humongous field book. Over the course of the afternoon he rated hundreds of rows on a scale from 7 -9 in increments of 0.1. I was able to redirect him to rows he had rated previously and the second rating was never more than 0.1 units different from the original rating. That...

During 1970-74 Bob Forsberg was my advisor when I was graduate student in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics at the University of Wisconsin. I always admired his calm demeanor, patience, listening skills, and willingness to help. May his soul rest in Peace!

Rick, and I were most fortunate to have known Bob and Darlene through Rick´s father DC Smith. We enjoyed visiting with them and enjoyed being welcomed at their home in Door Cty. Bob even trimmed trees so that we could drive up to the house in our motor home. Such kind and generous people. The world needs more like them. How lucky the family was to have Bob for so long. Our heartfelt condolences.

I was a grad student on the small grains breeding group in the mid '70's. Dr. Forsberg was always a very kind person who treated everyone with respect. He was obviously very intelligent but also a very hard worker. When we were out in the field working he was almost always out there working as well. He was a great guy.
