Still think of this wonderful man often one year later. His spirit is truly alive with lifelong lessons. I was praying he had some pull from Heaven with the Mets this year but I am sure it will be next year! Be happy in Heaven Bob!

For some reason, I missed the date of Bob´s memorial and so would have been there had I known. I have thought of him so much this year especially when the Mets baseball team comes on the T.v. We often shared that misery. Will always remember him especially as the superior teacher he was.

Mr.Gallagher was my daughter's favorite teacher at Duffy. He made a huge difference in her life, specifically by writing notes to her (and all the other children) every week. These notes built her confidence in herself.

My sincere condolences to all the Gallagher Family. I have many fond memories of Bob in conversations where he expressed his love for his family and the students he taught. All of his children reflected the love and compassion that was found in their home. Bob always had something positive to say about everyone. I always appreciated his support of the Conard Hockey program. My love to all of the Gallagher family. Sincerely, John Donohoe

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Bob and I were teachers at Duffy School. He was a wonderful caring person. We always exchanged stories of NY as I grew up in Brooklyn and he in the Bronx. We commiserated that you couldn’t find authentic NY Pizza in CT, and Bob shared that he had found just the best NY pizza in West Hartford. I remember after long work days, I stopped to pick up a pizza at the place Bob had recommended. He was right he brought a little bit of NY to CT and it felt like home....

I’m so sorry to hear about Mr. Gallagher’s passing. 30 years ago Mr. Gallagher was my 4th grade teacher and I still think of him constantly and remember him as my favorite teacher. My mother called me today to tell me of his passing and we recalled some stories of his kindness and humor when he was my teacher and the years after. He touched so many lives. Condolences and love to all his family and those mourning.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Bob's death. I knew Bob in my roles as assistant superintendent and superintendent of the West Hartford Public Schools. I treasured anytime I could visit his classroom and revered his gentle nature and wisdom. I count him among the best educators I've known. With deep sympathy for your loss.
