Not sure what to say?

Bob Gammage was a long distance friend of mine. We never met in person. We communicated almost exclusively through the Internet. I am a 6th generation Texan and a graduate of Harvard Law School and a Liberal. Bob and I had much in common and enjoyed our exchanges. I contributed financially to his campaign for governor and am proud to have my Bob Gammage for Governor pin. We lost a true champion of human rights with Bob's passing and I think of him now in these trying times (2019.)

I had the great privilege to meet Mr. Gammage as a Commander in the Navy and Naval Legal Service Office Corpus Christi. Little did I know the honor at the time as much as I knew it later retrospectively.

Lynda, for those who knew and loved him, we will never forget him and you.
Love, Nic

Dear Daddy,

It's been just over a year since you passed and I miss you so much everyday. I love you more than ever and it is completely gut wrenching to me everytime I know I can't pick up the phone and call you. I ask myself why you had to leave and will never know the answer. We all miss you so very much. I read over the guestbook, you had so very many friends and people really loved you. It makes me feel so proud, people call you a hero, said that you made history, but to me you...

I am one of those whose lives crossed paths with Bob years ago but literally just learned of his death today.

After many years of no connection at all, I was able to track Bob down over a year ago where we had two wonderful telephone visits walking down memory lane.

He was a great man in so many ways. As a young reporter and writer of editorials for a newspaper in Rosenberg, I opposed his first campaign for Congress. By his second campaign for the job, I was in his corner then...

Bob Gammage was a great man. We will miss him.

Bob and I shared a number of things: political views, being descendants of the original settlors of Texas, past attorneys, and an appreciation for family and friends. Bob lived a really good life. My deepest condolences to the family. The good simply go too soon, don't they?

Lynda, this will be a particularly difficult time of year for you and the children. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Tomorrow I'll give thanks for having known Bob for 45 years. Every time I spoke with him, or we exchanged e-mails, he lifted my spirits. I miss him.
Love, Nic

Lynda, So sorry to hear about Bob. Thinking of you.
