Not sure what to say?

Major Garrett was my supervisor during his tour at the Pentagon with the Air Force Data Services Center. Captain Mark Smith and I were his subordinate Branch Chiefs. We three formed a working bond that I had never had nor would ever repeat. Bob was one of the greatest. He was a fine and fair gentleman who I always respected. He will be sorely missed.

My husband and I met Bob in Stuttgart, Germany in the early 1970s. He was an Officer and a Gentleman. He was fun and everyone wanted to be around him. He was our friend. We spoke with him about a month before his passing -- he was to come to northrn Virginia to attend a Patch Barracks Reunion. The Reunion was lively with stories of Bob Garrett and his days in Stuttgart. We were shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. However, we know that he has been welcomed by others who...

Cousin Bob will remain in my heart. I'm posting a sweet photo of the last time I saw him with cousin George Rucker Penn at mom's funeral (Marjorie Garrett) in 2008.

I really can't find the words to express the profound sorrow I feel in
knowing that Bobby G is no longer with us. We truly have lost one of the
great ones, and I was most privileged to have known him as a close friend.
Not too long ago I was able to speak with Bob by phone at the Danville hospital, and although our conversation was necessarily brief, I am so very thankful to have had that opportunity. You'll be sorely missed, My Friend.
