Not sure what to say?

I did not know that Bob Gentry had crossed over until today. I was an engineering student of his at OU and he was my favorite teacher. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and always willing to spend extra time to help his students. He wrote letters of recommendation for me as I was getting my engineering career started. May God be with the family.

Mr. Gentry was my favorite Petroleum Engineering professor at OU. I had him for two courses: Production Engineering, and Oil Field Management/Evaluation. Excellent instructor with industry experience and the ability to relate his teaching to how we'd operate in the oil industry. When the economy faltered with lowering oil prices in 1983, I decided to join the Air Force. Mr. Gentry wrote a letter of recommendation for me which helped me get into officer training. I am now a retired...

I just found out this morning that Bob had passed away. Bob was a popular figure at Pacer Fitness Center as he would sit and carve while Jo would work with a physical therapist, Bob loved to talk about his carvings and got my little granddaughter, Ashtyn Blackburn, interested in modeling clay. They would sometimes work together while he waited for Jo. He was so gentle and kind to her. Ashtyn and I will miss him.

Bob and Jo were a vey important part of my high school years. They made a big difference in many young people's lives and I loved them very much.

I enjoyed his carving classes for sure.

I am very sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. My heartfelt condolences to the family during this time of sorrow. (1Corinthains 15:26) (Isaiah 61:1,2) Please find peace in knowing that He understands your grief and He cares. 1 Peter 5:6,

Bob was a good friend who always seemed to have time to assist you when he was needed. In 2007, he stepped up to help us start a new carving group at FIrst Baptist, OKC. He was a good teacher and encourager to all. Bob was a man of faith and conviction. He will be missed...I appreciated his life and legacy among us.

He was a Great teacher and friend. We are going to miss him.

Les and I are sorry to hear of Bob's passing, Les and Bob carved together at the OCWC club and other places including Branson. Les has several of Bob's knifes. Due to Les's poor health he had to give up woodcarving a couple of years ago but he like Bob a lot. We are still in touch with a few of the carvers and were sad about his wife's passing also a nice lady - I am send zin hugs to the kids, those are hugs you would give them if you could, but we can so maybe they will hug each other for...
