Robert Castleman Gibson

Robert Gibson , we hardly knew ye. Such a wonderful man.

I,of course,knew him as Gibby ,the name he was called by his friends at UMd. He christened me "Lear Dear". The last time I saw him was at his 50th reunion at Mary;and. We left a few messages several years ago but did not hear back. Now I know why. Gibby lit up the room and was one of the wittiest people I have ever known. He will be missed.

Sad to learn of Bob's passing, not to mention the manner of his passing. Of course I'm going to send something to the Alzheimer's people. My memory is from halfway up Whitney Hill in North Tunbridge, Vermont, during the years 1971 and '72. I think you might remember my "rescue" of young Bob from my pond! That was a very long time ago! Since then, I've long since moved to Washington, remarried, retired, and spent many, many happy years playing the piano. But the memory of those golden...
