Not sure what to say?

This is long overdue. it wasn't until today, July 16, 2023 that I learned that Bobby Gill, my friend from Ockley Green grade school and Jefferson High School, passed away three years ago. Bob's story in high school football is a remarkable one of persistence. The young man was a backup on the C squad as a freshman, a backup on the B squad as a sophomore and perhaps never even played on coach Eric Waldorf's last team at Jeff as a junior. Then, along came coach Tom Desylvia who liked what he...

Bob was exactly the Man described in this bull's-eye obituary...and yet, he was also so much more.

We who love Bob Gill and so deeply respect him and miss him...we are a nation. Bob is vigorously alive within us, a calm but inspiring force to do the right thing...and to be anonymous when we do it.

I nagged Bob to permit me write a history of his efforts in behalf of OSU football and MAC handball...but...he just laughed me off.

What a Man. What an American....

What can anyone say about Bob. He was my brother from another mother. My Sister Faith started going with him when I was freshman. He use to come over to the house on weekends to watch football games. He come in and say Patty did you know the football game is on
TV ? Then we watch any football game no matter who they were. Bob was like a brother to me. I was in my sister Faith and Bob's wedding. He was a wonder Father and a wonderful husband to my sister. He was full of life...

He fought the good fight. He stayed the course. He kept his faith. He was a giver not a taker. He brought value to all those who knew him. A photographer, a historian, an author, a man of many talents. And generous in sharing them. Thanks for the memories. Ken Scales

Love and prayers during this difficult time...The Benevento Family

A good friend and business partner

I treasure the memories of Bob as a classmate in chemical engineering
and pre-dentistry at OSU and then again as a classmate in dentistry
at the University of Oregon Dental School.

Dr. Gill will be missed by many. I had the pleasure of knowing Bob because his daughter Amy is married to my cousin Dave. Dave and Amy had he and Faith at many family events where we all shared good times. I know that Bob was in good hands through his tough battle. He and Amy enjoyed many talks. Bob was a wealth of knowledge. He and Faith are together again!

I am sad to read of Bob's passing. We went to high school together (Jefferson '54) , where he was outstanding in everything he attempted from academics, leadership, sports, and friendships. He and Faith planned and orchestrated Jeff's class reunions for fifty years, each one being better than the last. It was important to him that the class stay together, and he was the glue that made that happen. He will be missed.
