AUBURN – Robert N. Gingras, 71, of 10 Fletcher Dr., died Wednesday July 28th after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Rita B. (Vien) Gingras;two sons, Robert N. Gingras, Jr. of Sturgeon Bay, Wisc. And Barry P. Gingras of Sturbridge; a brother, William P. Gingras, Jr. of Worcester; two sister, Evelyn E. Halpin Harrington of Boylston and Pauline J. Cloutier of Holden; two granddaughters, Jennifer E. and Katherine M. Gingras and Christopher P. Gingras; his step-children, Wanda, Elaine, Paul and Ray and his step grandchildren, Julie, Adam, Michelle, Kevin, Anthony, Angela, Michael, Kelly, Andrea, Christina and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late William P. and Regina M. (Kelley) Gingras and attended the Indian Hill Elementary School and graduated from the Commerce High School, 1952. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Gingras worked as a lineman and later as maintenance area worker for the New England Power Company for many years before retiring in 1994.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Worcester and its Vestry for many years. Active in many Masonic organizations, Bob was Past Master of the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Masons, Auburn; a member of the Alethea Grotto, Worcester and the High 12 Lodge, Charlton. He was also a Past Worthy Patron of the Pakachoag Chapter # 224, Order of the Eastern Star.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, July 31st, at 10 AM in All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving St., Worcester. Following cremation, burial in the Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday, July 30th, from 7-9 PM and on Saturday, July 31st at the All Saints Church from 9-10 AM. Member of the Prouty Lodge of Masons will assemble at 8 PM Friday for a Masonic Ritual.
